20 Years of Blended Finance

Inspired by his work with social entrepreneurs and mission-driven investors during the decade of the 1990s, by 2000 Jed Emerson had come to understand value as a combination of three components – social, environmental and economic – and explored the basis on which these are maximised and interconnected in a harmonic, value creation process at both organizational and capital levels. In the twenty years since, Jed has helped our community frame a field of thought and practice now followed by business and investors around the world. In this opening fireside chat, Jed will reflect on the current state of progress within impact investing and share his ideas on the future global agenda for purpose driven capital.
